Pope County 24-Hour Release Status
Pope County does not publish a verified official list of people released today. Its sheriff pages do not offer a jail roster or a recent-release view. The relevant online custody list is the Douglas County inmate roster, since the roster can show people whose arresting agency is Pope County. Yet that list reports current custody. It has no selector for releases during the prior day and no stated post-release retention period.
A missing name is therefore ambiguous. The person may have posted bond, been released on recognizance, completed a jail term, moved to another jail, entered Minnesota Department of Corrections custody, or left on a writ or other agency hold. A writ is a court order that can move a person for a hearing or proceeding. Only an operational release record or a record from the receiving custodian separates community release from continued detention.

Begin with the physical custodian, not just the arresting agency. Pope County's most useful local roster filter sits on another county's website. During research, the Douglas roster displayed bookings with “POPE COUNTY” as the arresting agency. That fact confirms Douglas serves at least some Pope cases. It does not show that every person arrested in Pope County goes to Douglas, nor does it guarantee the placement will never change.
The roster also does not move a name into a released tab. A person usually drops from the current-custody view. This is why neither a 24-hour count nor an exact online release time can be derived from the roster. Check with Pope County Sheriff when the holding location is unknown. Then contact the facility that actually held the person, since that agency owns the operational departure record.
Note: Ask for a fixed start and end timestamp because “today” can be read differently across shifts and record systems.
Pope County Release Times
After Douglas County Jail is confirmed as the actual holding site, its official jail check-in and release information gives useful pickup guidance. Normal daily releases begin at 9:00 a.m. Processing is paused from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. A court-ordered release on recognizance averages about one hour to process, though it can take longer.
Those times are operating expectations, not proof that a named person will leave at a set hour. Staff must review the order, holds, identity, property, and other release steps. Pickup drivers are directed to the west parking lot between the jail and SunOpta. A person released to the community exits through west-side Door 2128. Someone transferred to another custodian follows a different route, so the door instructions should never be used as proof of community release.
Getting Home After Pope Release

Pope County Conditional Releases
